    This lock can be purchased for about $19.00 from most outlets and looks exactly the same as the lock on the right.     
The differences start with the quality of the metal being thinner than the lock on the right.                                             
Because the metal is not of a high quality, the lock is easy to force and also can jam or fail when being opened with keys.  This type of lock should only be used on internal doors that require very low use.                                                               They sometimes come with key profiles that are difficult to duplicate if more are needed.                                                    This lock can also void your contents insurance.		   This lock has a ASI rating (American standards institute)            This lock has a warranty and usually lasts 10 years plus with high use. It can be used on external doors as well as internal applications.                                                                                These locks can be keyed alike or masterkeyed.                         They are available with double cylinder (keys on both sides) or single cylinder.
