| Never tag your keys with the address of
the door lock.
Use a proper key safe box with four
digit combination, do not put the keys under a rock
or pot plant.
Always use a qualified locksmith to cut your
keys, they more are likely to work properly and
probably cost less than other options.
Your car keys should be cut correctly so as not
to damage the ignition.
they should not be clicky or tight to turn.
If you have an expensive Motorcycle use hardened
chain and padlock with Anchor, I have very often
seen galvinised hardware store chain used. This too
often results in theft. Good brands are Master lock, Abus, Lockwood, all these have rated strengths on
the pack and are usually stronger than needed.
Have an alarm installed where the motorcycle is
kept. GSM alarm is worth every dollar and only costs
about $20 a year for the prepay sim card.
Alarms are pretty useless unless monitored by you
or a security company.
Gsm alarms are great.
Always have a spare set of keys. especially if
you have a late model car. If you lose your only car
key it will usually cost thousands to be able to get
your car running. Car manufacturers make billions
out of replacing ecu units.
