IF you own a Subaru you will know
how much it can cost if you lose your only Subaru key. They have a immobiliser system installed from when the car was manufactured. |

Because of this it is
a must to have a spare Subaru key available at all times either
hidden in the car or put in a safe place that you can access,
Subaru keys are not the usual key and have a chip in the
head that gives the car computer the signal that it needs to
run.
Some times if you lose your only key you can get a technician to
program another two Subaru keys into the computer. This comes at a
price, approx $1600 for this particular make. I know because I
have made the mistake of only having one Subaru key. (was
without my car for two weeks!)
The best advise is to have a spare Subaru key duplicated by us or your
Subaru service centre.
